FGD gypsum: the ideal building material for sustainable construction

Flue Gas Desulphurization gypsum, FGD gypsum in short, has long been used in the gypsum-processing industry. The properties of this building material are very similar to that of natural gypsum. Quality is high and what is more important it is consistent.

"FGD gypsum for finishing walls, ceilings and self-levelling floors."

FGD gypsum has many other applications.
It is especially suited for processing into building blocks, in spray plasters, as setting time regulator for cement and as fertilizer in agriculture.

FGD gypsum is very pure. It is produced from combustion gases derived from the combustion of coal and biomass. The purity is at least 95% and furthermore the content of heavy metals are very low; even lower than that of gypsum extracted from the earth’s crust.
The colour of the FGD gypsum varies between light gray, light brown and light yellow.

For the safe use of FGD gypsum, a safety information sheet has been written.

FGD gypsum seamlessly fits in with the goals of sustainable building, among others because of the opportunities for reuse. FGD gypsum is not extracted from nature, but comes from the desulphurization of flue gases from power stations.
